AWM 4M: self portraits using a palette of earth tones + white + rubine red. Great process so far... Starting with an undercoat, moving to a light chalk drawing to anchor the face (use of mirrors and extreme light/shadow), blocking in the high lights and shadows, and using this as a map to apply future layers of colour. Students presented paintings in a mini critique. They were then placed in small groups to give each other suggestions, tips and feedback. Three days of this process. Paintings are due on Tuesday March 7th with a typed evaluation/reflection. Points of evaluation are on the class site.
